Choosing Ski Gloves Here's another guide to the obvious - the essentials of choosing ski gloves:
Firstly, ski gloves need to do two main things:
1) Keep you warm
2) Keep you dry
If you didn't know this, then you need to be directed to the introductory level section I haven't written yet, provisionally entitled 'Ski gloves: how many fingers have they got?'
So Ski Gloves have thermal properties especially around the fingers and they are waterproof. They should be breathable to stop sweaty palms getting cold when you're on the lift. The gloves should have powder cuffs that cover your wrist and stop snow from getting inside the gloves.
It would also be good if they had a non-slip palm so you can grip your ski poles and a thumb goggle wipe during white outs. Some ski gloves have a 'snot panel' - nice. This is not an absolute must since we all have sleeves.
If you're not a racer, and not susceptible to the effects of wind chill at high speed, then that's about it really.
