What ski pants do you want? This is a summary of what customers have told us over the last few years. Surprisingly, they need to be inexpensive, in your words
cheap. But being cheap doesn't mean being poor quality. The cheap ski pants need to be lightly insulated because your legs don't feel the cold as much as your torso. On really cold days the ski pants can be worn with base layer pants, this makes the ski pants more versatile. Over insulated pants are fine sometimes but can be too warm for some days on the slopes.
Breathability wasn't really much of an issue for the average Winwood Outdoor customer, since legs don't sweat as much as bodies especially on cold days. Although as much breathability as possible was appreciated, and some venting just in case, while keeping the ski pants cheap.
Waterproofing was essential. But since most pre-spring skiing and boarding involves dry powder, and you're not going to experience a great deal of torrential rain, then the waterproofing doesn't need to be the most expensive one available on the market. If it keeps off the snow when you're sitting in it then you're happy
So we made some enquiries, saw a load of reps, drove down to the Snowdrome and tried the best ones out.
The ski pants we chose are ideal for the beginner and the seasoned skier. The beginner who is unsure of whether or not they will fall in love with the sport wants something inexpensive (cheap), just in case they never tumble down a steep slope again. But they are also ideal for the seasoned skiers and boarders - just because you don't fall over any more doesn't mean you have to be ripped off.

| 4F Sports Performance - for Ski Jackets and Ski pants 4F Sports Performance are a new Polish company that have been producing ski jackets and ski pants for around 6 years.
Their garments use the American Malden Mills technical fibres.
AquatechPro Extreme - is a waterproof and windproof technical fabric with PU coating used on the ski jackets and ski pants. The micropores of the fabric have triple function: they block wind and water and transfer sweat and moisture from the inside to the outside of the jacket. Thermodry - used in their ski pants - moves perspiration away from the body to the fabrics outer surface, where it can evapourate quickly. The construction of the fibres ensures that the lining dries quickly to keep your ski pants comfortable.
Thermopile - is a lightweight, high quality polar fleece lining.
Windpile - is a climate control fabric that offers great protection from wind and cold. The fabric is also very breathable.
